One you leave the creative class and join the rat race its kind of a lost cause. New York is not like Los Angeles, where people are hunkered down in bungalows in the hills. You see people in the street. I saw Lou Reed at the Apple Store, Michael Stipe eating ramen noodles, Julian Casablancas hanging on the corner, Rosie Perez at the ATM, Carrie Brownstein walking her dog; the list goes on and on.
